Mass recall of dog and cat food by Menu Food, Canada

There has been a mass recall of dog and cat food manufactured by Menu Foods, Canada which is sold under 51 brands of dog food and 40 brands of cat food. The food concern was reported to have caused kidney failure among cats and dogs. Read more on Menu Food Recall.

The recall is however only limited to the wet food type, the so called “Cut and Gravy Type”. In Malaysia, major distributors of dog foods manufactured in US has announced that the dog and cat food distributed locally are not affected by the recall. Read more on “Pet food sold locally safe for animals to eat” as reported.

PETALING JAYA: Dog and cat owners can heave a sigh of relief while feeding their pets.

None of the pet food distributed locally is affected by the United States and Canada recall.

According to a statement released by Eukanuba and Iams pet food distributor Procter & Gamble (P&G) (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, Asia is not affected by the recall, as the specific wet food products are not being sold here.

“All products acquired from local authorised distributors are safe,” said P&G associate public affairs manager Edwin Lam Choong Wai.

The recall in North America is part of a larger product recall by Menu Foods Inc, a contract manufacturer that makes a small portion of canned and foil pouch wet pet food for various brands, including Eukanuba and Iams.

Meanwhile, Shrilan Sivaguranathan, managing director of Hill’s Pet Nutripet pet food distributor Pet’s Corner Sdn Bhd, and Nestle Purina country business manager Ernest Yong said there was no cause for worry as none of the products being recalled were sold in Malaysia.

Labradoodle – Breed Information and Breeder Directory

Came across The Labradoodle – Breed Information and Breeder Directory on the net and found it to be interesting.

nikki-labradoodle.jpg

Labradoodles were originally a cross between the Labrador Retriever and the Standard Poodle and was orignally bred as a guide dog. First bred in the 1970’s by Wally Cochran, the Labradoodle is a very lovable dog, known for their exceptional intelligence and trainability, low to non-shedding coat, low allergy coat, and lack of doggie odor.

Labradoodles are sociable, friendly, non aggressive, and extremely intuitive. Their intelligence and high trainability make them well suited for guide dogs, therapy dogs, and other assistance dogs. Their non allergic coats make them popular among people who have not been able to enjoy pets because of their allergies.

Poodle is known to be a very intelligent breed and labrador being a breed that is agile and active. Apart from being a good guide dog, I do believe the Labradoodles will also be a good dogs for Dog Obedience and Agility Sports. Training for both sports should be very easy and enjoyable. Since Labradoodles show no aggression to other people and dogs, it should one suitable for most family who wish to have family K9 member.

Drop Your Pet’s Blood Sugar Quickly and Safely

While human suffers from diabetes, some pets such as dogs and cats suffer from the same diabetese too. A healthy dog can live up to 10 – 15 years of age but with diabetes, their life expectancy will drop to only 2.5 – 5 years. Fortunately, there is a Diaxolâ„¢ that has been clinically proven to be 99% effective for pet diabetes.

A lot of prescribed medications for diabetes carry potentially disastrous side effects. Diaxolâ„¢ consists of all-natural ingredients that are essential to make it safe and effective. It contains no chemically generated-compounds, fillers, or artificial additives and unlike pharmaceutical drugs, Diaxolâ„¢ does not require a prescription and has ZERO negative side effects. It will surely help to lower your pet’s blood sugar level and heal your pet’s diabetes problem.

Innotek Bark Collar

No all dogs are born equal. Some dogs bark more than the other. Some breed bark with much louder voice and higher pitch. Excessive barking can sometime be a problem to dog owners especially those staying in condominium and those with neighbours in close proximity. In such circumstances, using a Bark Collar to control barking is definitely a humane way to cut down barking of dog concern. Innotek BC-50A is one such bark collar that some of our dog trainees at our training centre have tried recently and found to be effective. Two of them are the owners of Miniature Schnauzer that have excessvie barking problem and have since managed to reduce barking problem substantially. After some period of use, the dog will even refrain from barking once the collar that is without battery power is attached to the dog. After all, they have been trained not to bark with the collar on.

The goal – No more Barking and No more collar.
